ability to post profile picture

I suggest that the zone allows users to post a profile picture. Even we are all visually impaired here, it's good to have a profile picture. Provided that, the user can add a text description with his or her profile picture. This will also good because any users can be able to ask a sighted fellow to describe the appearance of any zoners that he or she likes to know. I believe that though we are visually impaired, we are still delighted to know the physical appearance of whom we talk with.

True, but couldn't we just ask them? That is, how tall are you, do you have long or short hair, what colour are your eyes etc? Interesting idea, and I'm not putting it down. I just never thought of having a feature like that on this site since, as you said, most of us are blind or visually-impaired.

This has been suggested several times, and pretty much every time been voted down for 2 reasons: 1 - pictures take up a lot more space and bandwidth than text and even the ocasional sounds. 2 - There are a multitude of sites that allow you to host pictures, that you could jjust as easily post a link to in your profile.

Sorry, I agree with Singer of Songs. There are plenty of other ways to allow others access to your picture, and there's a place in your profile where you can provide as much of a description as you want.

I can see where people who are sighted or have partial vision would be interested in a profile picture. When I first read this, I was in favor of the idea, but Miah makes some good points. If we don't have the space for pictures, then just post a link to one on your FB profile, or something along those lines.

in response to post 5, totally agree. you can describe yourself in the profile, and that for blind people could be almost the same as seeing a picture.

interesting theory, but i think people can build an image in there minds just by the description
